Bitterly cold temperatures continue today, with a high temperature around 12 degrees and wind chills 10 to 15 below zero. Snow begins falling this afternoon, becoming heavy at times tonight into Sunday. Winter storm conditions will peak during the day Sunday, with total snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches is expected across Champaign County. Additionally, northeast winds gusting 20-25 mph will lead to blowing snow, reduced visibility and hazardous travel in open, rural areas through Sunday night.
