Illinois Tornadoes Interactive Map for 2016

The great folks at the National Weather Service crafted this interactive map displaying all tornadoes that occurred in Illinois in 2016. As you can see, Champaign County was largely spared by an overall quiet year in our part of the state.

The lone outlier was a damaging tornado in southeastern Champaign County near the towns of Sidney and Homer. You may recall I actually followed this storm from the Philo area, before the initial tornado, all the way until it damaged a farmhouse near Homer. Luckily no one was harmed by this tornado.
